Sutherland I-PRESS
Sutherland Presses has sparked a revolution in the metal stamping industry by developing proprietary touch screen machine press controls providing unparalleled safety functionality and ease of use to press operators. I’m privileged to be the UX/UI designer for the I-PRESS line of press controls. We’ve introduced intelligent/intuitive navigation, operator oriented UX iconography and user supportive operational flows to a market that is very much in need of these features. The Sutherland I-PRESS control is a game changer in the metal forming industry.
Art direction, UI/UX design, production files
I borrowed the iconic map location symbol to guide the press operator back to the "main run" screen. Being high powered industrial machines it's very important that navigational confusion be eliminated or overcome for safety purposes. All of the key press functions are displayed in the main run screen interface optimized for operator comprehension. All adjustable functions are given easy navigation to their more detailed components.
